Pendant - Victorian Pearl and Porcelain

Exquisite Victorian 18ct rose gold pendant featuring a hand painted porcelain miniature of two children in a garden.  The miniature is enhanced with delicate gilt highlights to the children and the surrounding plants.  The pendant is circa 1880.

The filigree frame is set with seven (untested) pearls and the pendant has a compartment on the reverse side which would have originally held a locket of hair or a photograph of a loved one.

The pendant is of very fine quality and in excellent condition. It measures 6.5 cm (2.6 in) in length and is 3cm (1.2 in) wide.  It comes with a valuation from a registered Australian valuer.
