Lovely Art Nouveau 18ct gold pendant by the french jeweller Jean-Baptiste-Emile Dropsy (1858-1923) whose work was popular in the mid to late 1890s.

The pendant displays two classical Art Nouveau motifs - the  portrait of a beautiful female and the iris.

The iris flower is an emblem of France and symbolises faith, hope and the promise of love.

The pendant is signed Dropsy and has the French eagles head hallmark. It weighs 1.1 grams.

The pendant is dainty, measuring 1.5cm (0.6 inches) in width and 2cm (0.8 inches) in length and is in perfect condition. It could either be used as a pendant or on a charm bracelet.

This is the perfect piece to start a genuine Art Nouveau jewellery collection - it is affordable, signed, has a french assay mark and is a classsical Art Nouveau design.
