Art Nouveau Era (1895-1905)

Art Nouveau jewellery is epitomised by its sensuality, soft colours, flowing lines, stylised female forms and naturalistic motifs such as butterflies, dragonflies, irises, orchids and other flowers.

Jewellery was usually mounted in gold and set with gemstones such as moonstone, citrine and peridot, or more expensive gems such as diamond, ruby, emerald or sapphire.
