Antique Gem Set Spider Brooch

Beautiful late Victorian 15ct gold novelty brooch with a garnet and sapphire set spider.

The brooch is 6.2cm or 2.4 inches in width and weighs 8.2 grams.

It is clearly stamped with 15ct and is in excellent condition.

The Victorians loved naturalistic jewellery, this fascination extended from flowers and foliage to animals, reptiles, birds and insects such as butterflies, dragonflies, bees and spiders.
