The House of Chaumet, founded in 1780, is a high end jeweller based in Paris. The founder Marie-Etienne Nitot (1750-1809) was the offical jeweller to Napoleon. Marie-Etienne Nitot created the Napolean Tiara and the Imperial Sword as well as jewellery for Napoleon's second wife, the Empress Marie Louise de Habsbourg-Lorraine. A portrait of the Empress wearing jewels created by the House of Chaumet hangs in their store at the Place Vendome in Paris.
